Glass Frit Panel Class

Who is this course for?

Level One and above - This 1.5 hour class is suitable for all levels.

What does the course cover?

Karen will teach you the technique of creating Decorative Glass using specialist Frit glass, creating your own designs in preparation for it to be fired in our kiln. Beginning by deciding on your own design - perhaps a meadow or local landmark - you will be guided through the process of creating your design using glass.  Your piece will then be fired in our kiln and ready for collection the following week.  This class is perfect for beginners and also for those who have already completed a Frit class and would like to explore further.

What is Frit Glass? - Frit comes in varying sizes from fine to coarse.  Fine and medium frit is similar to sand in texture and size.  Using frit you can use the sand type glass to create shapes and shading, giving an almost painted on finish once fired.

PLEASE NOTE - this class does not include cut glass please see our other classes for this type of work - please do not book this class if you wish to make designs that include cut glass as this glass will not be available on the day.

What is included in the fee?

Your fee includes tuition by Karen, the use of tools and equipment and all materials. 

Each student can make one piece of your own design (a max of 20x20cms) - This can also be split into smaller pieces allowing you to make different designs.

There is a maximum of 6 students per class to ensure individual attention. 

Please note your pieces are fired in our kiln and will be ready for collection within two weeks.

What do I need to bring?

• Please wear sturdy and fully enclosed footwear (no open toes or gaping sides) and old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty or damaged.
• Please ensure long hair is tied back. 
• All drink containers/bottles must have lids.

All our classes are for age 16 and over, unless otherwise specified.

Course terms and conditions:

Cancellation and Attendance Policy;

• In the event of a class being cancelled by the Host, the option of a full refund will be issued or the student may request a date transfer if available.
• Cancellations by the student over 28 days of the class date – we will offer a full refund or date transfer if available at the discretion of the student.
• Cancellations by the student within 28 days of the class date – we are unable to offer a refund or date change.  Please see following information:
• If we are able to re-sell your place a refund will be given at all times and every effort will be made to re-sell at all times.
• Non-attendance – if you do not attend on the day of your class you will not be eligible for a refund or class transfer.
• Payment of your class fee is deemed as acceptance of our terms and conditions.
