Pewter Christmas Decorations

Join experienced jewellery designer / silversmith Kate Hunter-Parker as she guides you through the traditional processes of working with pewter sheet to create a pair of decorations.

Firstly you will learn how to transfer a design onto the pewter and then how to emboss the metal to create a 3D design.  You will mount your design onto a choice of wooden bases and add a patina if you wish.

Who is this course for?

This is a 2.5 hour course suitable for all learners but some dexterity would be a benefit.

What does the course cover?

During the class you will work with pewter sheet, to create a pair of your own unique decorations. You will learn a range of techniques to work with this interesting metal. You will create your own design or use one from the sample designs provided, then transfer it on to the pewter. You will learn how to emboss the metal to bring your design to life. Your design will be mounted onto a wooden base. You will learn about different finishes to give your design a unique look.

What is included in the fee?

Your fee includes tuition, the use of tools and equipment and all materials. You will make a pair of pewter decorations during the class to take home with you.

There is a maximum of 8 students per class to ensure individual attention.

 What do I need to bring?

• Please wear sturdy and fully enclosed footwear (no open toes or gaping sides) and old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty or damaged.
• Please ensure long hair is tied back. 
• All drink containers/bottles must have lids.
• No food can be consumed within the classroom.

 All our classes are for age 18 and over, unless otherwise specified.

Cancellation and Attendance Policy;

• In the event of a class being cancelled by the Host, the option of a full refund will be issued or the student may request a date transfer if available.
• Cancellations by the student over 28 days of the class date – we will offer a full refund or date transfer if available at the discretion of the student.
• Cancellations by the student within 28 days of the class date – we are unable to offer a refund or date change.  Please see following information:
• If we are able to re-sell your place a refund will be given at all times and every effort will be made to re-sell at all times.
• Non-attendance – if you do not attend on the day of your class you will not be eligible for a refund or class transfer.
• Payment of your class fee is deemed as acceptance of our terms and conditions.
