Cold Enamelling Workshop for 9-16 year olds

Who is this course for?

In this cold enameling workshop your child will design and create up to two pieces of enamelled jewellery.  Under guidance of silversmith Kate Hunter-Parker, they will experiment with copper shapes and enamels to create their own focal pieces for their designs. These will then be turned into wearable pieces of jewellery of their choice using a range of chains, beads or leather. They will also learn some basic jewellery making skills to create their own unique pieces.

This workshop is a great introduction to Jewellery design for all the young budding designers out there.

Kate Hunter-Parker is a silversmith but also a qualified tutor and has a lot of experience of working with children and young adults

2 hour class.

What does the course cover?

This course will allow your child to design and create two pieces of jewellery, they will create two focal enamelled pieces to incorporate into their design. These pieces will be enamelled using the process of cold enamelling. They will then turn their enamelled designs into wearable jewellery by adding beads, leather or chain. They will learn about jewellery findings and tools and how to use them to bring their ideas to life.

What is included in the fee?

The fee includes tuition, the use of tools and equipment and all the materials to make two pieces of jewellery.

There is a maximum of 6 students per class to ensure individual attention.

 What do I need to bring?

• Please wear sturdy and fully enclosed footwear (no open toes or gaping sides) and old clothes that you do not mind getting dirty or damaged.
• Please ensure long hair is tied back. 
• All drink containers/bottles must have lids.
• No food can be consumed within the classroom.

Cancellation and Attendance Policy;

• In the event of a class being cancelled by the Host, the option of a full refund will be issued or the student may request a date transfer if available.
• Cancellations by the student over 28 days of the class date – we will offer a full refund or date transfer if available at the discretion of the student.
• Cancellations by the student within 28 days of the class date – we are unable to offer a refund or date change.  Please see following information:
• If we are able to re-sell your place a refund will be given at all times and every effort will be made to re-sell at all times.
• COVID – special conditions – If you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid and/or subject to quarantine/isolation restrictions and/or anyone in your household has tested positive – within 7 days of your class – Please DO NOT ATTEND.  Our standard cancellation policy applies however, if your place is not able to be re-sold and cancellation is within 7 days of your class date we will offer you an item made by your tutor and this can be posted to you or collected at an agreed date. **
• Non-attendance – if you do not attend on the day of your class you will not be eligible for a refund or class transfer.
• Payment of your class fee is deemed as acceptance of our terms and conditions.

** Covid – It remains our policy to continue with facemasks where the tutor requests and also the aforementioned attendance policy.  We are a small business that works with self employed tutors who are dependant on their work as their only source of income, therefore we have implemented this policy to provide the safest working environment for our tutors and staff.  These policies will remain in place until further notice despite any changes to legal requirements.  Your compliance is gratefully received.
