Perfumery Workshop

Who is this course for?

Join us to discover the magic of scent and learn the principles of the art of Perfumery. You will creatively play with the best perfume ingredients as used by professional Perfumers, and construct a unique fragrance.

In this workshop you will be guided by Michele Riveroll, an expert Perfumer with more than 20 years’ experience creating fragrances for some of the most loved and trusted products in the world.

You will have the opportunity to select precious natural extracts to use in your fragrance, as well as a collection of perfumery molecules rarely accessible to the public.

At the end of the day, you will walk out with a new appreciation of your sense of smell, the art and science of Perfumery, and a unique fragrance created by you.

This is a 2 1/2 hour course suitable for all learners but some dexterity would be a benefit.

What does the course cover?

During the class you will learn how to create a personal fragrance or a room fragrance.

Michele will introduce you to the latest research on the sense of smell, how to train it and how you can increase the enjoyment you bring into your daily life by paying attention to your sense of smell.

You will learn how to evaluate perfume ingredients, how to talk about fragrance and the vocabulary the industry uses. This will help you to select the right fragrances for you and your home in a market that can be confusing and overwhelming.

Michele will take you step by step though the principles of perfume creation, from ideation to final execution, and help you formulate a fragrance that is both harmonious and unique.

What is included in the fee?

The fee includes tuition, an e-booklet, the use of tools and equipment and all the materials and a fragrance that you take home that day.

There is a maximum of 6 students per class to ensure individual attention.

 What do I need to bring?

• Please wear sturdy and fully enclosed footwear (no open toes or gaping sides) and clothing that you do not mind getting dirty or damaged.
• Please ensure long hair is tied back. 
• All drink containers/bottles must have lids.
• No food can be consumed within the classroom.

 All our classes are for age 16 and over, unless otherwise specified.

Cancellation and Attendance Policy;

• In the event of a class being cancelled by the Host, the option of a full refund will be issued or the student may request a date transfer if available.
• Cancellations by the student over 28 days of the class date – we will offer a full refund or date transfer if available at the discretion of the student.
• Cancellations by the student within 28 days of the class date – we are unable to offer a refund or date change.  Please see following information:
• If we are able to re-sell your place a refund will be given at all times and every effort will be made to re-sell at all times.
• COVID – special conditions – If you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid and/or subject to quarantine/isolation restrictions and/or anyone in your household has tested positive – within 7 days of your class – Please DO NOT ATTEND.  Our standard cancellation policy applies however, if your place is not able to be re-sold and cancellation is within 7 days of your class date we will offer you an item made by your tutor and this can be posted to you or collected at an agreed date. **
• Non-attendance – if you do not attend on the day of your class you will not be eligible for a refund or class transfer.
• Payment of your class fee is deemed as acceptance of our terms and conditions.

** Covid – It remains our policy to continue with facemasks where the tutor requests and also the aforementioned attendance policy.  We are a small business that works with self employed tutors who are dependant on their work as their only source of income, therefore we have implemented this policy to provide the safest working environment for our tutors and staff.  These policies will remain in place until further notice despite any changes to legal requirements.  Your compliance is gratefully received.
