Stacker Ring Workshop

Who is this course for?

This is a 4 hour course suitable for all learners but some dexterity would be a benefit.

In this ring making workshop you will produce 3 stacker rings and add a cabochon stone setting to one of the rings. Under guidance of silversmith Kate Hunter-Parker, you will create 3 rings picking different textures and finishes. You will pick one of your rings to add a stone setting, there will be a choice of suitable stones in various colours. To complete this project you will learn a number of traditional silversmithing techniques, cutting, annealing, soldering, stone setting and polishing. 

This workshop is a great introduction to silversmithing and you will learn lots of new skills and use a wide range of tools.

All the materials and tools are supplied.

What does the course cover?

This course will guide you through the steps of forming rings, using various different shaped silver, we will explore different textures which can be achieved to create three unique rings. You will pick one of your rings to solder a bezel cup onto and then set your choice of stone. Once this is complete you will be cleaning up your designs and polishing them.

What is included in the fee?

The fee includes tuition, the use of tools and equipment and all the materials to make 3 silver rings, one with a stone setting.

 What do I need to bring?

• Please wear sturdy and fully enclosed footwear (no open toes or gaping sides) and clothing that you do not mind getting dirty or damaged.
• Please ensure long hair is tied back. 
• All drink containers/bottles must have lids.
• No food can be consumed within the classroom.

 All our classes are for age 18 and over, unless otherwise specified.

Cancellation and Attendance Policy;

• In the event of a class being cancelled by the Host, the option of a full refund will be issued or the student may request a date transfer if available.
• Cancellations by the student over 28 days of the class date – we will offer a full refund or date transfer if available at the discretion of the student.
• Cancellations by the student within 28 days of the class date – we are unable to offer a refund or date change.  Please see following information:
• If we are able to re-sell your place a refund will be given at all times and every effort will be made to re-sell at all times.
• Non-attendance – if you do not attend on the day of your class you will not be eligible for a refund or class transfer.
