Clay - Candle Holder Making Session

Who is this course for?

This 3 hour class is suitable for all levels.

In this workshop you will create your own  pair of Candle Holder using clay.

What does the course cover?

Over the half day session we will be showing you how to assemble and decorate your very own Candle Holders. With a professional pottery tutor on hand to guide you through the session you will learn how to use moulds, slab building and the various functional aspects of a Candle Holder.

You will get to choose patterns from our large range of wooden and clay stampers to make the holder in your own style.

The holders will be taken back to Muddy Fingers HQ and dried then bisque fired, we will then glaze them in a speckled white glaze and fire them again. The holders are made from stoneware clay so will be unglazed on the base and occasionally around the underside of the rim (depends on fit). Glaze colours may not be exactly as they are on our testers and therefore colours cannot be guaranteed.

The finished piece will be ready for collection approx 4 weeks later.

What is included in the fee?

The fee includes tuition, the use of tools and equipment and all the materials and firings. 

There is a maximum of 8 students per class to ensure individual attention. 

Please note your pieces are taken away to be fired and will be ready for collection approx 4 weeks later, date to be agreed during the class. 

What do I need to bring?

• Please wear sturdy and fully enclosed footwear (no open toes or gaping sides) and clothing that you do not mind getting dirty or damaged. 
• Please ensure long hair is tied back. 
• You may bring your own drinks. All drink containers/bottles must have lids.
• Please cut your nails!

No food can be consumed within the classroom

• Non-attendance – if you do not attend on the day of your class you will not be eligible for a refund or class transfer.
